First Beets of the Season

I have always loved fresh fruit and vegetables but now as a vegetarian the activity weekly City Market (farmers market) is a focus in my schedule.
I look forward to the progress of the season as each new item becomes ready- Today the Beets arrived and MMM MMMM I am ready for them.
I have gotten some sweet potatoes, turnips, plants to put in my garden, and a few greenhouse grown goodies(tomatoes,cukes) and lots of greens. I look forward to each week and the coming summer when the market expands to Wednesday evening as well.
Can' wait to get home and chow down on some beets and green and other goodies.
